Cleveland
Print Room
artBIV was founded to honor Stephen Bivens' memory and provide access to photography for Cleveland youth. Net proceeds benefit The Cleveland Print Room.
The Print Room is a nonprofit community darkroom, education center, workspace and photographic gallery. Located in Cleveland, they provide affordable access darkroom workspace, exhibitions, educational programming, and community outreach.
The Print Room works with local, national, and international artists to fulfill this mission. Stephen was part of this team. He was a Teaching Artist at several Cleveland public schools and neighborhood recreation centers. Spending time with students introducing them to photography became one of his greatest joys. He felt a deep connection with these young people – and was constantly inspired by their growth, creativity, and strength.
STEPHEN BIVENS MEMORIAL FUND
Stephen's wife, Jennifer, has established a fund at the Print Room in his honor. The Memorial Fund provides for unique student needs and supports the Stephen Bivens Artist Residency. The Residency fosters creative and artistic growth for two emerging regional photographers annually.
